Hello!
My name is Elizabeth McColloch.
I’ve always loved to read. I love learning new things. I find it fascinating to look at a subject from a viewpoint I may have never before considered.
I love reading about other cultures, beliefs, lifestyles, and other times in history.
My love for books goes back for as far as I can remember. My parents kept me well supplied with storybooks, as well as a good set of encyclopedias.
Favorite stories in my early years were Huckleberry Finn and To Kill A Mockingbird.
I read The Good Earth by Pearl Buck when I was a sophomore in high school, and loved it.
To my surprise, all of these books – and many more – have been banned and/or challenged someplace, sometime.
I’m a firm believer that there is something to be learned from any book, no matter if we agree or disagree with the material presented.
Love it or hate it, our education has been advanced because of it.
I believe all of us should have the freedom to read whatever we choose.
Parents, of course, choose for their young children. However, I do not think it is right for a few parents to make that decision for the entire school!
I am SO enjoying re-reading these old favorites, (as well as some new favorites!), and sharing them on this website.
If you would like to build your own website about something you love, well, guess what? You can!
I’m sure I would never have managed to do it on my own. But I did spend a lot of time and money trying. Not a good idea!
If you have a passion you’d like to share with the rest of us, click on the link above and find out how to do just that!
Welcome to my website and thanks for reading.
