"I fell in love the way you fall asleep, slowly and then all at once." That describes my experience while reading Looking for Alaska by John Green. This story tells of the many different situations and experiences that teenagers are involved in. Many parents become furious when they begin to think that their little angel might be involved in something that is not particularly legal. My message to those people: get over yourselves. Your children know a lot more than you think they do. Teens are like sponges, we soak up everything we hear. Underage drinking, smoking, and sex all occur. All teens hear about it at least once everyday. Before one gets the gumption to ban a book, try to think of what you knew as a teen.
